How to Make Apple Bacon Baked Brie

This recipe comes together quickly and easily, making it a go-to appetizer for any event. Scroll down for full ingredients and recipe instructions.

  1. Prepare the Bacon Apple Jam: Start by frying the bacon in a skillet until it’s crispy, then set it aside. Drain most of the fat, leaving about a tablespoon in the pan, and add diced apples, minced shallots, coffee, honey, apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Simmer the mixture until the apples are soft. Blend the mixture until smooth, leaving a few tablespoons aside for a chunky texture.
  2. Prepare the Brie: Slice the top off the wheel of brie and top it with the apple bacon jam. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes until the brie is bubbly and gooey.
  3. Serve: Once the brie is out of the oven, top it with the reserved apple bacon mixture for an added burst of flavor. Serve warm with sliced apples, keto crackers, or gluten-free bread for dipping.

What to Serve with Apple Baked Brie

Wondering what pairs best with this delicious dip? The sky’s the limit when it comes to accompaniments! Fresh apple slices add a crisp, sweet contrast to the creamy brie, while keto crackers or gluten-free bread make for a heartier bite. The crunchy texture of the crackers complements the smoothness of the baked brie perfectly.

Can You Eat the Skin on Brie?

Yes, the rind on brie is edible! It’s completely safe to eat and adds a slightly earthy flavor to the cheese. However, whether or not you eat it is a matter of personal preference. Some people love it, while others prefer to stick to the creamy center.

Should Brie Be Served Warm or Cold?

Baked brie should definitely be served warm. When cold, brie can be a bit firm and rubbery, but when warmed up, it becomes soft, creamy, and perfect for dipping or spreading. The warm cheese mixed with the savory-sweet apple bacon jam is a delicious combination that’s hard to resist!
